[NEWS] CRAFT SAKE WEEK at ROPPONGI HILLS 2019

[NEWS] CRAFT SAKE WEEK at ROPPONGI HILLS 2019

One of Japan's largest “SAKE” events opens, with 110 breweries and 15 top restaurants taking part.

On April 19, 2019, CRAFT SAKE WEEK – where you can enjoy sake tasting and pairings with food – opened at Roppongi Hills, Tokyo.

This year's theme is “Pairing sake with the cuisines of the world.” Over 11 days, April 19–29, dishes from 10 countries spanning Asia to Europe take the stage. Going beyond the “sake = Japanese food” frame, it is an attempt to convey the appeal and depth of sake through pairings with a wide range of cuisines.

Restaurants to watch include “Motoi” (French cuisine) in Kyoto and “Pellegrino” (Italian cuisine) in Tokyo. “Pellegrino” will serve a course menu for the first time at this event (from 10:00 on the 29th, limited to 36 seats). Known as a hard-to-book restaurant with only six seats a day, by complete reservation, it offers a rare chance to savor chef Hayato Takahashi's cooking – including the finest prosciutto served especially for this event, such as “Bon Dabon's Perceuoro (aged 24 months).”
