[NEWS] Margotto Hanare – Kasumicho Ongakudo Opens
A wine bar where you can enjoy live classical music alongside vintage wines has newly opened in Nishi-Azabu!
Good news for grown-ups who love wine and music!
On May 14, 2019, “Margotto Hanare – Kasumicho Ongakudo” was born in Nishi-Azabu.
The venue opened as the hanare (annex) of “Margotto e Baciare,” famous for its truffles.
Composer Naruaki Saegusa was brought on as music director, and the venue – aiming to be a debut stage for promising young musicians and an experimental workshop where veteran musicians can open new horizons – is currently running a crowdfunding campaign.
The cuisine is overseen by “Margotto e Baciare” chefs Kenta Kayama and Junpei Kayama, who offer the appeal of Margotto’s cooking at more reasonable prices.
The wine list focuses on 1970s–80s French wines – including vintage bottles produced at “Domaine de la Romanée-Conti” and the vintage Brut of “Taittinger” – with around 1,000 bottles always available, contemporary wines included.
On the crowdfunding platform “Makuake,” you can enjoy sets pairing special menus and vintage wines available to members only.
